Tiara Watson - Principal

My name is Tiara Watson and I'm extending a warm Mays Rays welcome from Dr. Benjamin E. Mays  Elementary!  I am honored and excited to serve as Principal during the 2022-23 school year.  Our theme for the school year is "SEAS the Day at Mays!"  The Dr. Benjamin E. Mays Elementary Family strives to empower all children to light the way for the future by becoming lifelong learners and forward thinkers.

Mays is a very special place.  Our school was renamed after our Greenwood native, Dr. Benjamin Elijah Mays.  Dr. Mays' life reflects one of perseverance, love, and hope.  These are qualities we hope to instill in our students each day.  We are a Leader In Me school where we embed the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People by Stephen Covey.  Our Mays Rays are taught the 7 Habits to apply at school and at home.  This year we hope to provide numerous opportunities to partner together.  Please feel free to contact me at 864-941-5535 to schedule a conference or email: [email protected].  I'm looking forward to our year ahead!
